On Discovery for 21 Days

Day 2

It's day 2 of lockdown in South Africa. Our day started out to be not so normal with both our kids being sick, but our youngest being admitted to hospital.
So not your normal day of isolation. We weren't anxious about driving to hospital, due to the COVID-19 we don't fear it as we know the hand of the Lord is upon us. Nevertheless this was an traumatic day for both me and my little girl.  I have had to stand outside a room while they worked trying to put a drip in hand and later a feeding tube whilest my two year old was calling me, frightened, scared.
I was so overwhelmed by my own emotions of wanting to protect my child from harm.

As I lay here thinking about my day and trying to process everything there are two things that I discovered.

1. Many times our circumstances are of such a nature that it overwhelmes us, that we feel we can't do anything, we can't breath, we can function. All our focus is directed to the current situation and the emotions it unlocks.
This paralyses us, and we don't take note of Immanuel that is standing right there with us.   In the midst of the anxiety, fear, heartache. We allow the situation to become so big that we dont' see God is in the midst of our chaos.

2. God is a good Father. If I can feel the way I did about my little girl when she went through trauma. How must He feel when we go through tough times and we are overwhelmed by our situation and all He wants to do is to protect you against harm

He is a good.Father and He wants you to know that.

In this day He is inviting you to come into His rest.
Go into your room and wait upon the Lord. Tell Him your concerns about the situation you find yourself in, dont get overwhelmed by your situation, but be overwhelmed by the Holy Spirit and allow Him to bring clarity to.your chaos.

Readings

I wait for the Lord, I expectantly wait, and in His word do I hope.
Psalm 130:5 AMPC

If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good gifts [gifts that are to their advantage] to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask and continue to ask Him!

Luke 11:13 AMPC
I wait for the Lord, I expectantly wait, and in His word do I hope. I am looking and waiting for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, I say, more than watchmen for the morning. O Israel, hope in the Lord! For with the Lord there is mercy and loving-kindness, and with Him is plenteous redemption.
Psalm 130:5‭-‬7 AMPC
